The Clerk's Office is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Revenue & Cash Management Department. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial operations that support the Clerk's Office dedication to transparency and accountability. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key part in managing revenue streams, reconciling cash transactions, and supporting compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Examples of Essential Functions
Review and post revenue and cash receipts in the Advantage and OnBase systems daily.
Perform quality control functions including review of revenue department postings, Advantage document modifications and other reports.
Conducts balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation of specific accounts monthly.
Create workbooks, pivot tables, and excel formulas to support the account analysis function.
Prepare analysis of bank account and merchant service charges monthly
Perform monthly and annual review, and analysis of Sales Tax activity. Review monthly liability as reported by county departments, remits Sales Tax payment request to Payables to ensure timely payment, file monthly report with State of Florida Department of Revenue.
Manage armored car activity for all county departments including compliance with contract terms, validation of monthly billing, and service issues.
Manage Special Assessment (FSA) process including monthly and annual reconciliation, preparation of payoff letters, preparation of yearly TRIM and Tax reports distributed to the Property Appraiser and Tax Collector. Respond to public inquiries regarding special assessments and assists County Attorney's Office with questions.
Lead Revenue and Cash Management department year-end process.
Drafts and updates procedures as needed.
Function as a backup to Financial Specialist positions as needed.
Employees who are multilingual are expected to perform customer service-related functions as the need arises.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required (as outlined below)
Additional experience is accepted as a minimum requirement in lieu of a post-secondary degree on the following basis: additional four (4) years in lieu of a bachelor's degree, and additional two (2) years in lieu of an associate degree.
Four (4) years of direct work experience required in an environment that provides broad knowledge of public finance administration, automated financial systems, and regulatory standards regarding administration of public funds.
