POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Provision & Financial Support
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Analyze effective tax rate drivers, deferred tax positions, and uncertain tax positions, providing clear insights to management.
  • Support Country-by-Country (CbC) reporting and maintain transfer pricing documentation in coordination with internal teams and external advisors.

Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and international tax filings, including income, sales/use, VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes.
  • Coordinate with foreign offices and external providers to ensure timely and accurate local compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and ensure adherence to global compliance requirements and internal controls.

Research & Analysis
  • Conduct technical research on domestic and international tax matters, including the impact of transactions, vessel itineraries, and operational or structural changes.
  • Prepare clear, well-supported tax memoranda and jurisdictional analyses to document positions and support compliance.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in global tax laws and assess implications to the organization.

Audit & Advisory
  • Support U.S. and international tax audits by managing data requests, preparing responses, and coordinating with tax authorities.
  • Serve as a key resource for management and cross-functional teams, providing guidance on tax implications of business activities.
  • Liaise effectively with external tax advisors, consultants, and vendors.

Process Improvement & Technology
  • Drive process improvements by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve data quality.
  • Leverage tax technology, automation tools, and data analytics to streamline reporting and compliance processes.
  • Assist in defining, tracking, and standardizing global tax obligations and reporting frameworks.

Special Projects
  • Support strategic tax planning initiatives and special projects, including process transformations and system implementations.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the tax function.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

DEGREE TYPE:

Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY:

Accounting with concentration in Taxation.
  • Master's degree in Tax preferred, or any equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education.
  • CPA license a plus.

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting firm or 5 years in large corporate tax department.
  • Big 4 experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives, including leveraging technology and AI tools to streamline tax operations and enhance accuracy a plus.
