Responsibilities
- Prepare beverages and set up beverage stations daily
- Set up meal service timely according to schedule
- Must maintain and stock utensils for daily meal service
- Must serve patients, staff, and visitors in a professional manner
- Washing dishes and putting up clean and sanitized dishes to appropriate areas
- Clean kitchen and equipment as needed or according to routine cleaning schedule. Will obey all sanitation and safety rules and complete assigned weekly cleaning duties
- Assist with cleaning projects, sweeping, mopping, garbage removal as assigned
- Stock and straighten storerooms, coolers, and freezers as directed
- Attend in-service classes as required
- Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
- Regular attendance
- Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, patients, and prospective patients
- Must be able to work in constant state of alertness to perform the job in a safe manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director
- Must obtain food handler's certification
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of sanitary food preparation procedures and general equipment use and cleaning
- 2 years food service experience in a health care setting preferred
- Read, write, and speak so as to communicate and follow written/oral instructions
- Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable)
- Must be able to stand on your feet continuously for an 8-hour shift
- Ambulate through kitchen
- Able to bend and lift objects up to a maximum of 10-15 lbs. or over 20 lbs. with assistance
- Operate food service and dishwashing equipment safely
