The HR Generalist serves as the primary on-site People & Talent resource for assigned entities, providing frontline human resources support and administrative services in a healthcare environment. This role delivers Tier 1 support to People & Talent Centers of Excellence (COEs), manages essential on-site operations, and supports team member engagement activities that foster connection, belonging, and operational excellence.
The HR Generalist is responsible for day-to-day employee-facing HR services including team member badge printing, maintaining the local People & Talent office, responding to routine HR inquiries, and coordinating engagement and onboarding-related administrative activities. This role acts as a connector between team members, leaders, and centralized People & Talent teams, ensuring timely issue resolution, accurate information flow, and a positive team member experience aligned with Tampa General Hospital's mission, values, and regulatory requirements.

This role acts as a connector between team members, leaders, and centralized People & Talent teams, ensuring timely issue resolution, accurate information flow, and a positive team member experience aligned with Tampa General Hospital's mission, values, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the primary on-site People & Talent contact for team members, providing Tier 1 HR support and responding to routine inquiries related to policies, processes, and employee lifecycle events.
- Print, activate, validate, and maintain accurate accountability of team member badges in accordance with security and organizational requirements.
- Maintain the local People & Talent office, including supplies, materials, signage, and coordination with facilities or security partners as needed.
- Provide Tier 1 administrative support to People & Talent Centers of Excellence, including intake of requests, basic transaction support, documentation, and appropriate escalation.
- Support team member engagement and onboarding administrative activities such as Day 2 entity orientation preparation, entity breakfasts, recognition events, and engagement committee coordination.
- Assist with onboarding logistics, orientation preparation, scheduling, and follow-up activities for new team members.
- Ensure accurate data entry and documentation within People & Talent systems and tools while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
- Coordinate with HR Business Partners, COEs, and Shared Services teams to ensure seamless service delivery and issue resolution.
- Support audits, reporting, and compliance activities related to People & Talent processes.
- Support people metric dashboard creation, analysis and delivery to ensure data alignment with People & Talent strategies.
- Model and promote TGH core values in all interactions with team members, leaders, and partners.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- High School Diploma with five (5) years of experience, Associates Degree with three (3) years of experience, or Bachelors Degree with one (1) year of experience in human resources, administrative HR support, or a healthcare operational environment.
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, and employment practices in a healthcare setting.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members, leaders, physicians, and visitors.
- Ability to provide Tier 1 HR support and appropriately escalate complex issues to COEs or HR Business Partners.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, ticketing systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- High attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to support team member engagement activities and on-site events, including logistical coordination.
