Job Description
Hospital Medicine APPs practice at the top of their license with substantial autonomy and serve as core clinical leaders within interdisciplinary teams. Depending on assignment, care is delivered through a combination of in-person and virtual workflows for medically complex adult patients.

Qualifications
Due to the complexity of our patient population, a minimum of 2 years of prior NPPA experience is required
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.

- In the Care Transition Unit (CTU), APPs independently manage high-volume, rapid-turnover patients, focusing on diagnostic clarity, evidence-based protocols, timely disposition, and efficient movement between emergency, observation, and inpatient pathways.
Across assigned practice settings, the Hospital Medicine NP/PA will:
- Admit, transfer, and manage hospitalized and observation patients
- Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and daily clinical assessments
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic studies
- Formulate diagnoses and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Lead inpatient and observation care plans, including escalation and de-escalation decisions
- Coordinate care with consultants, nursing, and ancillary services
- Educate patients and caregivers and lead discharge planning
- Prescribe medications and perform minor procedures as indicated
- Ensure age appropriate, patient-centered, and evidence-based care
