The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes using advanced CAD/CAM software. This role supports end-to-end production activities, ensuring high-quality output, process efficiency, and compliance with customer specifications. The engineer collaborates with customers and cross-functional internal teams to deliver accurate designs, efficient manufacturing programs, and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes using CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks, ESPRIT, ANVIL, and PTC Creo.
- Read, interpret, and review blueprints and technical drawings to develop accurate manufacturing programs aligned with customer requirements.
- Monitor manufacturing operations to identify process inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and reduce waste.
- Review and validate drafting and blueprints prepared by other engineers and approve designs for production.
- Evaluate materials, tools, and manufacturing methods to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and process effectiveness.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to explore alternative solutions, assessing potential benefits and risks.
- Collaborate with customers to discuss design specifications, modifications, production challenges, and technical requirements.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, including production control, technicians, engineers, sales, and quality inspectors, via written communication, calls, emails, and in-person discussions.
- Prepare complex designs, detailed technical drawings, and comprehensive production plans.
- Assign tasks and coordinate production activities to meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards using advanced inspection tools such as CMM, OGP, and Keyence.
- Maintain KPI logs and performance metrics related to manufacturing efficiency and quality.
- Continuously research and implement new methods, tools, or technologies to improve product quality and production efficiency.
- Travel as required for industrial visits to understand customer processes, requirements, and establish effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software including SolidWorks, ESPRIT, ANVIL, and PTC Creo.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tools, and strength of materials.
- Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality control software and advanced inspection tools (CMM, OGP, Keyence).
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid mathematical proficiency, including geometry, algebra, and calculus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with customers and management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to travel for customer and industrial visits.
