Responsibilities
Academic Technology Support & Problem Solving
- Supports faculty and staff in the implementation, use, troubleshooting, and optimization of Canvas and an ecosystem of integrated academic technologies (e.g., Design PLUS, Kaltura, Simple Syllabus, Ally Course Report, and related tools) used to deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in online, hybrid, and on-campus modalities.
- Researches knowledge bases and/or credible resources, collects information from multiple different resources, evaluates information, identify solutions, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve academic technology problems.
- Troubleshoots learning management systems, lecture capture systems, and an ecosystem of integrated academic technologies (e.g., Design PLUS, Kaltura, Simple Syllabus, Ally Course Report, and related tools).
- Provides guidance and consultation to faculty regarding the selection, implementation, and effective use of academic technologies to support teaching and learning needs.
- Supports course preparation, content migration, section management, course readiness activities, content maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts across undergraduate and graduate courses in online, hybrid, and on-campus modalities.
- Supports faculty in the creation, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and effective use of assessment technologies and workflows, including Canvas quizzes, gradebooks, accommodations, testing center processes, proctoring solutions, and related tools and methods.
- Collaborates with Academic Technology team members, Information Technology, Office of Digital Learning and Academic Technology, vendors, and other stakeholders to support academic technology workflows, maintain awareness of emerging learning technologies, best practices, and institutional processes.
- Participates in professional development activities and evaluates emerging learning technologies, processes, and practices to support continuous improvement and innovation within the Academic Technology unit.
- Shares relevant updates, resources, and recommendations with team members to promote effective adoption and use of academic technologies.
