Job Description
The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is conducting a search for a Medical Oncologist with interest and expertise in Genitourinary (GU) malignancies. The ideal candidate is a scholarly clinician with excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to multidisciplinary patient care, and a focus in clinical and/or translational research. In addition, candidates should be interested in developing and implementing clinical trials for patients with GU malignancies and working across disciplines to advance the field of GU oncology. The oncologist would also be expected to support the education shield at Mayo Clinic and teach the Hematology/Oncology fellows, medicine residents and medical students.
Our care model involves a multi-disciplinary team (Advanced Practice Providers (NP, PA), Nurses, Nurse Navigators and Oncologists), and specialists from Urology, Surgery, Pathology, and Radiation Oncology. Mayo Clinic is a Comprehensive Cancer Center, therefore, our patients have access to comprehensive diagnostics and clinical trials through our phase I program, the phase II consortium, and national cooperative group studies.
Mayo Clinic Florida will provide the successful applicant with many opportunities to contribute to existing efforts, grow new programs, and pursue a personalized academic career path related to GU research and treatment, and continue to build a reputation nationally and internationally. For the right candidate, this position also offers the potential to take on a leadership role within the GU oncology program with opportunities to collaborate on enterprise-wide initiatives across Mayo Clinic's sites.
Qualifications
Board-certification or board-eligibility in Medical Oncology is required. Must be eligible for state of Florida licensure.
