Ability to install, repair and maintain electrical systems. Maintain equipment such as lighting and power, controls equipment, transformers, interior and exterior conduits and switchboards. Install new lighting fixtures, photocells, contactors, circuit breakers, and subpanels. Troubleshoot power failures, interpret electrical plans and specifications. Check for conformity with codes, regulations, and safety orders. May direct helpers. Check power to HVAC systems. Install and repair electrical wiring, switches, receptacles, and fuses. Repair and service electrical appliances. Assist other department personnel and perform other duties. May use forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts and ladders. May stand, stoop or crawl for long periods of time.
