Day Residential Advisor

This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and is an hourly, non-exempt role.

At Job Corps, this role is about structure, accountability, and maintaining a clean, organized living environment for students. The Day Residential Advisor ensures dorms are maintained to standard, students are prepared for the training day, and expectations are consistently enforced.

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to maintain a clean, inspection-ready environment at all times.

Position Overview

The Day Residential Advisor provides supervision and support to students during daytime operations, with a strong focus on dormitory cleanliness, organization, and daily readiness.

You will ensure dorms meet inspection standards, students follow schedules, and living areas reflect the expectations of the program. This role is critical to maintaining order, discipline, and accountability across the dorm.

You bring reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain standards without constant supervision. You understand how to keep spaces clean, organized, and inspection ready.

Experience in hotel, motel, housekeeping, custodial, or similar environments is highly valued, as this role requires maintaining high cleanliness standards on a daily basis.

You are able to work with students while still holding expectations and maintaining structure.

Core Responsibilities
• Maintains dormitory cleanliness, organization, and inspection readiness at all times
• Ensures student rooms, common areas, and surrounding spaces meet established standards
• Conducts room inspections and enforces cleanliness and organization requirements
• Ensures students are awake, prepared, and on time for the training day
• Monitors student hygiene, dress, and readiness for daily activities
• Provides supervision and maintains accountability of students throughout the shift
• Assists students in adjusting to center life through guidance and structure
• Provides informal counseling related to behavior, responsibility, and daily living skills
• Facilitates morning accountability checks and dorm meetings
• Supports life skills development, including personal responsibility and independent living
• Maintains accurate documentation and student records in accordance with PRH requirements
• Conducts safety and perimeter checks of dormitory areas
• Identify maintenance issues and enter work requests into the center's work order system.
• Maintains communication between staff, management, and students
• Promotes a safe environment free from harassment, intimidation, bullying, and disrespect
• Maintains accountability of students, staff, and property
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with youth, residential programs, or similar environments preferred
• Experience in housekeeping, hotel, motel, or custodial work is a strong plus
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred
