What You'll Do
- Write and maintain SQL queries to pull, validate, and reconcile operational data from source systems - not just consume reports someone else built.
- Build and automate reporting workflows using tools like Power Query, Python, or similar - reduce manual effort, increase reliability.
- Identify when a number looks wrong and own the investigation: trace it through the data pipeline, find the break, and fix or escalate with evidence.
- Evaluate opportunities to automate recurring manual processes and implement solutions independently or in partnership with IT.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators - track SLA compliance, workload distribution, and workflow efficiency across practice groups.
- Maintain data quality in dashboards and scorecards: ensure inputs are timely, accurate, and decision-read
- Analyze operational data to surface trends, flag risks, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Document processes clearly: create SOPs, job aids, and workflow maps that capture how work gets done and how it should get done.
- Support leadership with crisp, factual reporting: status updates, risk summaries, and performance snapshots.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring issues and document findings with clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Assist with quality assurance by sampling workflows and outputs for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to translate goals into measurable outcomes and track progress.
Who You Are
- Analytical and detail-oriented - you trust data over assumptions and enjoy finding the story behind the numbers.
- Clear communicator who can translate complex data into concise, understandable summaries for non-technical stakeholders.
- Organized and thorough - you follow through, keep documentation current, and don't let details fall through the cracks.
- Self-directed, comfortable working independently once direction is set, and doesn't need hand-holding to stay on track.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, able to ask the right clarifying questions and work through problems methodically.
Key Responsibilities
- 2-4 years of experience in a business analyst, operations analyst, or similar role.
- Proficiency with data tools and reporting (Excel, dashboards, or similar); familiarity with CRM or practice management software a plus.
- Proven ability to document processes clearly and maintain accurate records.
