    Position Overview:

    Stillwater Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Help Desk Technician in their Omaha, NE or Jacksonville, FL offices.

    This role works as part of a team to provide a full set of support services in a Windows desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software for internal and remote employees.

    You will be responsible for the daily operational use of the Company's PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, and PC maintenance, upgrades and configuration management. The successful candidate will be willing and able to work business hours as assigned as well as willing to work off hours as needed, including weekends and holidays.

    We're looking for candidates who may:


    Provide Tier 1 help desk support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction.

    Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk.

    • Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and appropriately prioritize issues.
    • Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation.
      • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory.
      • Document and update as needed all internal procedures.
    • Utilize and maintain the help desk tracking software.
    • Assist with on-boarding of new employees.
    • Ensure each employee has a working computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional equipment approved by management.
    • Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.
    • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses.
    • Report issues to the Service Desk for escalation.
    • Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software.

    The Basic Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 1 year or more experience supporting PC and laptops in a business network setting or equivalent training.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field.
    • 1 to 2 years or more experience supporting PC and laptops in a business network setting.
