The Allstate Benefits Claims Associate III is responsible for analyzing and adjudicating claims in accordance with policy provisions with guidance from the medical team and leadership team. A claims examiner must have the ability to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations, as well as, evaluate claims from initial report to final determination. They must also be able to obtain and utilize sensitive information discreetly and objectively in addition to documenting claim files with notes, evaluations and decision-making processes while achieving optimal customer service.
This position is a hybrid role, meaning your schedule may consist of time in an office setting and time working remotely from your home. The hybrid model is intended to provide greater flexibility and will mean something different to each team, job and employee. Office presence is driven by the nature of the work and team needs. Youll work from home for the remainder of the time youre not in the office. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses. This role will be located in Jacksonville, FL.Key Responsibilities:
Analyzes, processes, researches, adjusts and adjudicates claims which will result in a payment or nonpayment of a claim with guidance from the medical team or leadership team
Reviews insurance policies, the claim form and supporting documentation to make sure that all of the information is correct
Determines whether the claims are covered under the policies issued to that policyholder
Assists in identifying, investigating and reporting fraudulent claim activity to our internal fraud unit
Provides the insured with correspondence that is clear, concise and meets state regulations in relation to the decision they made on the claim processed
Administrative responsibilities, as needed, including claims assembly, claims sorting, and pre screening
High School diplomaCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Medical terminology or medical billing experience preferred
Health insurance or supplemental insurance experience insurance
Ability to work in a fast-paced/deadline-driven environment
Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment
Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations
Limited policy coverage and insurance regulation knowledge
Good verbal and written telephone communication skills
Simple and straight forward individual claim authorization
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
This is a hybrid role located in Jacksonville, FL.This role is classified as hybrid, but there is no set expectation to report into an office at this time.
The start date for this role will be Thursday, July 28, 2022.
This is a part-time role typically working 20-35 hours per week between the hours of 6:00 am 6:00 pm EST Monday - Sunday.
This job requires 4 weeks of mandatory training from August 1 August 26 from 8:00 am 12:00 pm EST without time off during this period.
Compensation for this position will be $18per hour.
