· Directly supervises Palatka-based hydrologic data collection field and telemetry network staff and coordinates the activities of hydrologic data collection field staff in other offices; ensures that work loads are properly distributed and makes necessary adjustments to work assignments in order to accomplish the tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Supervises employee performance to ensure metrics and goals are accomplished.  

· Provides quality assurance of data collection techniques in the field and data processing in the Hydstra database performed by subordinate staff. Supervises optimization of telemetry and SCADA systems.  

· Manages the use and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, boats, and field instruments assigned to hydrologic data collection. Orders data collection and safety supplies, and equipment.  

· Provides scheduled training for all technicians in the area of hydrology, hydraulics, meteorology, electronics, telemetry, SCADA systems, quality assurance and instrumentation.  

 Minimum Qualifications:  

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental science, hydrology, hydrogeology, or related field and four years professional experience in the environmental field.


 A master's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental science, hydrology, hydrogeology, or related field may substitute for one year of the required experience.

A doctorate from an accredited college or university in environmental science, hydrology, hydrogeology, or related field can substitute for two years of the experience described above.

  Professional level experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
