Summary:This is routine manual work consisting of extensive painting of all Meridian facilities.

This also includes a variety of preventative maintenance and repair procedures.

Under general supervision, this will perform a wide variety of painting duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment; and perform related work as required.

This is reviewed through reports and observations and has potential exposure to blood and body fluids.

General Duties: Report to work based on departments schedule for employee.

Performs interior and exterior painting as assigned.

Maintain inventory control of paint supplies, departmental tools and equipment.

Prepares all surfaces for painting by using any of the following methods: paint removers, scrapers, wire brushes, sanders, blow torches, sand blasting, etc.

Fills holes, crevices and cracks and seals joints with putty, caulking and other filler.

Prepares and mixes paints and finishes as required.

Applies paints, lacquers, stain, varnishes and finishes, etc.

using brushes, rollers, spray equipment and applicators.

Provide center wide-customer service while maintaining a positive attitude.

Proactively identify problems and propose effective solutions by filling out work orders and informing supervisor.

Ensure all required safety standards are in accordance with CARF requirements.

Cleans work areas, equipment and tools.

Attends meetings as assigned.

Ensures all safety standards are followed.

Complete tasks with minimal follow up.

Adapt quickly to changing situations with a calm attitude.

Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals.

Education and Experience:High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of the above.

Knowledge:The standards, practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment used for the construction, repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds or equipment in his/her area of expertise.

Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as daily schedules, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to read and write routine work orders, reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
