The BIM Specialist will oversee company-wide implementation of digital design and production platforms, research and introduce new technologies, develop and curate best practices, improve upon workflow process and standards, implement and enforce standards, advise and assist other users with troubleshooting and clash detection of projects, and lead training efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MEP design, simulation, and document production process.
Responsibilities.
Create 3D Models of building elements to support construction initiatives.
Participate in coordination, troubleshooting, and clash detection sessions.
Develop model families for general and project specific needs.
Set up new projects and develop project execution plans.
Work with other Engineers and Designers to build and manage model databases, templates, and standard procedures.
Perform checks on modeling efforts of others to ensure quality control and deadlines are met.
Provide on-going training to staff on emerging technologies/software.
Take on additional as needed and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
Qualifications.
Bachelors degree in design, technology or related field.
5-years experience in engineering or architectural industries.
Advanced knowledge of BIM tools including Revit and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of Bluebeam tools is preferred.
Information Technology experience is preferred.
In-depth working knowledge of current BIM versions with emphasis on project setup, file structuring, system troubleshooting, etc.
Must be a self-starter and work well independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Available to work overtime to meet tight deadlines.
